HBCU Bound Tour Coordinator

About the Role

HBCU Bound is seeking dependable, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable individuals to serve as Tour Coordinators. Tour Coordinators represent HBCU Bound at schools, churches, college fairs, community events, festivals, conferences, and other outreach opportunities.

This is a flexible, event-based independent contractor position. Tour Coordinators may represent HBCU Bound independently, alongside another Tour Coordinator, or with other HBCU Bound team members.

What You'll Do:

  • Coordinate Events
  • Communicate with assigned schools and community organizations to coordinate event dates, times, and logistics.
  • Maintain timely and professional communication with event contacts.
  • Complete necessary outreach, confirmations, and follow-up related to assigned events.
  • Represent HBCU Bound appropriately
  • Engage with students, families, educators, and community members.
  • Educate attendees about HBCUs and the mission and resources of HBCU Bound.
  • Engage in meaningful dialogue about HBCU history, culture, traditions, opportunities, and impact.
  • Answer questions and assist attendees with HBCU Bound books and educational resources.
  • Create a welcoming, informative, and professional experience.
  • Support Event Operations
  • Pick up prepared event materials and supplies.
  • Transport materials to and from assigned events.
  • Set up and break down the HBCU Bound display.
  • Maintain an organized and professional event space.
  • Return event materials following the event.
  • All literature, promotional materials, signage, and other event resources will be prepared by HBCU Bound.

  • Confident engaging with students, families, educators, and community members.
  • Willing to learn and continuously expand their knowledge of HBCUs.
  • Willing to read and become familiar with the HBCU Bound Ambassador Handbook and required training materials.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Organized and able to manage event-related communication and responsibilities.
  • Equipped with reliable transportation.
  • Able to transport, lift, and set up event materials.

Compensation & Schedule

Position Type: Independent Contractor

Pay: $25 per hour

Standard Event Assignment: Up to 8 paid hours / $200 total

A standard assignment typically includes up to four hours of administrative preparation, outreach, communication, and coordination, as well as up to four hours for transportation, setup, event support, and breakdown on the day of the event.

Tour Coordinators work on an event-based basis and may accept available assignments based on their schedule.
